"They think I shall take the ballot box home”
Armen Sahakyan, a member of Yerevan's Council of Elders, "controls the situation" at polling station 10/12 making a row with observers, proxies and journalists.
Armen Sahakyan introduced himself as an observer from "Free Society Institute."
The row started after Tatevik Poghosyan, an observer from "Youth for the Sake of Democracy" NGO, tried to impede ballot stuffing.
"Armen Sahakyan was constantly insulting and quarrelling with me after I tried to hamper ballot stuffing," Tatevik Poghosyan told A1+.
Armen Sahakyan assessed the incident in one word -cavil.
At 12.30 the chairman of the polling station Garik Galoyan called the Territorial Election Commission and invited representatives to watch the electoral process. He said the observers and journalists were interfering with their work.
Later the deputy chairman of the polling station Armen Smbatyan told the observers: "If you continue disturbing our work you will be asked out. Stand silent and watch the election from where you are."
Garik Galoyan continued the deputy chairman's words: "6-7 people gather near the ballot box and guard it as if I am going to take it home."
Seeing that A1+ was shooting the incident Armen Sahakyan burst out shouting: "Go and shoot people standing at Republican square. If you shoot me I shall take your camera away and call people to take you out."
