Azerbaijan disseminates fabricated information
The RA MoD Department of Information and Public Affairs has issued a statement today which reads,
"Yesterday a film appeared on the Internet with "peaceful and hospitable" Azerbaijanis telling about the "tragedy" of Khojalu.
Numerous distorted and fabricated facts were evident in Azerbaijan's recurrent "film" shot solely on lie and adulteration.
The citations from a "book" by Zory Balayan are but an outrageous lie. Zory Balayan announced months ago that he had never written such a book.
The "film" tells how fugitives escaping from the village were shot dead near the Armenian village of Nakhijevanik. This is another lie by Azerbaijan since in February 1992 Nakhijevanik village was not controlled by Armenian Armed Forces.
The "film" ends with an emotive and heart-rending music and photos of the alleged victims and eyewitnesses. After an in-depth look one can see an injured Armenian child in one of the photos published in Komsomolets Kuzbassa newspaper (December 5, 1991). The electronic version of the article entitled "Long road to Erkech" is available at http://www.press.karabakh.info.
We simply advise Azerbaijani agitprop to be more careful in their choice of material and to avoid mistakes that can easily be disclosed."
