Retreating assuredly?
Serzh Sargsyan today held a reception at the RA presidential residence for over a hundred representatives of Armenia's businessmen on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year.
Wishing the guests a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Serzh Sargsyan said: "I know that the decisions that you have taken have not always been in line with the classic rules of business. The decisions often haven't favored the rapid development of business, but people and your employees. You have been guided by the logic of not reducing workplaces as much as possible."
According to him, taking a look back at the economic developments, the steps taken and the line of conduct of many businessmen in 2009, it could be registered:
"A class of businessmen who are aimed at shaping long-term and balanced business is in the process of formation in Armenia and it is that class that is the pillar for any country and the problems that it faces.
Some may think that such challenges could have reduced the energy of businessmen in a small economy. But thank God, there are no signs of lack of energy and activity among us. We are ready for new solutions. Yes, we did register a fall of economic ratings and I don't think those ratings will go down in December, but we did not register a fall in the search for new directions and planning of projects. As a result, the unprecedented fall that came with the financial-economic crisis is slowly but surely retreating," said Serzh Sargsyan, assuring that the next year would be a year of work and restoration.
