Head of the Republican faction Galust Sahakyan personally doesn't recognize Nikol Pashinyan. He believes that Pashinyan will receive his votes at the given precinct, but those votes will belong to Khachik Sukiasyan.

"After all, Pashinyan was not born there," said Sahakyan, adding that the opposition is taking advantage of the opportunity to try again.

As far as providing equal conditions for all candidates at the #10 precinct, Sahakyan said: "I don't think that there is anything to suspect. One of the candidates is on the verge of receiving a sentencing, while the other hasn't committed a crime. How could there be equal conditions? One of them is in liberty and one is not."

The Republican Party of Armenia has not alienated its former member Sasun Mikayelyan as an individual, but as a personality, announced head of the Republican faction Galust Sahakyan, adding that journalists should leave it to the party to take care of Sasun Mikayelyan because the party is very attentive. "We are careful to make sure that there is no violation of laws against him."

Nevertheless, Galust Sahakyan condemned the deputies of the faction who signed under the letter by which they asked the President to grant amnesty to Sasun Mikayelyan. "They had no right to do that, especially for Sasun Mikayelyan."

According to head of the faction, Sasun Mikayelyan was a conspirator against his team, but if he had such an issue, he would have addressed the President or the faction himself. "If the signature of a deputy was necessary, I think that there would be nothing wrong with addressing "Heritage" party and all members would sign. They simply needed to create something with which they could complicate Sasun's fate."

Sahakyan considers him a conspirator because, according to him, Mikayelyan participated in the council's sessions and even voted, but he was removed from the party after two days of conspiracy.

Galust Sahakyan doesn't qualify Sasun Mikayelyan as a criminal or a political prisoner. "I have even been involved in politics all my life. Even if I was sentenced to jail, I would not be a political prisoner because I became a member of the party by the political prisoners. Where have we seen Sasun Mikayelyan's political activities? He was simply a nationalist participant of the war, but he has neither been nor can be a political figure."

Sahakyan warned the oppositionists: "Don't make Sasun a target. He will want revenge over those who turn him into a target. He has nothing against us. In general, I don't think that anyone here feels more pain than me who has been with him for decades."
