Head of Nubarashen Security Division arrested
The head of the Security Division of the "Nubarashen" penitentiary Sedrak Artenyan was charged according to the Part 2 of the Article 315 of the RA Criminal Code (official negligence with grave consequences) in the framework of the criminal case initiated on the prison breach of two lifers from the "Nubarashen" penitentiary investigated by the Special Investigative Service.
Based on the evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation S. Artenyan didn't provide supervision during the technical check-up and search of the cells on the sixth and the cell areas on the fifth floor by the shift employees of the penitentiary, didn't properly organize the control over the work of the Security division, as a result of which senior of the day shift A. Smbatyan and the employees of the same shift A. Avagyan and V. Haroutyunyan neglected their official duties as a result of which the life termers Soghomon Kocharyan and Mher Enokyan, serving their sentences in cell 77, escaped from the roof of cell 1 by cutting and breaking the metal rails and using ropes.
Detention was chosen as a measure of restraint for S. Artenyan.
