Charges filed against police official
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Special Investigative Service on hooliganism committed by the head of the Criminal Intelligence Division of Toumanyan Police was over.
The prosecutor in charge of controlling the legality of the preliminary investigation confirmed the accusatory conclusion.
The preliminary investigation showed and corroborated, that on August 17, 2009, at about 2 a.m., the head of the Criminal Intelligence Division of Toumanyan Police, Lori region, A. Grigoryan together with his son V. Grigoryan and the latter's friends H. Sargsyan and Vanadzor citizen V. Galstyan had quarreled with Gyumri citizens A. Papikyan and A. Iskandaryan, scolded and used violence against them in the "Rosia" restaurant complex on Spitak-Vanadzor highway.
Based on evidence A. Grigoryan, V. Grigoryan and H. Sargsyan were charged according to the RA Criminal Code, Article 258, part 3, point 1 and V. Galstyan Article 258, part 3, points 1 and 3.
The criminal case was sent to the Court of First Instance of Lori region for the proper examination, reports the Office of the RA Public Prosecutor.
