Latvian president to arrive
On December 9 President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers and the First Lady Lilita Zatlere will arrive in Armenia on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Serzh Sargsyan. The delegation accompanying the Latvian President includes the Ministers of Economy, Internal Affairs, Environmental Protection, the chairman of the parliament's committee on international relations and other officials.
On the same day the Latvian President and First Lady Lilita Zatlere will visit the Matenadaran for the celebration dedicated to the Matenadaran's 50th anniversary. They will be accompanied by RA President Serzh Sargsyan and First Lady Rita Sargsyan.
On December 10 an official reception ceremony for the Latvian President will be held at the RA presidential residence, followed by the two presidents' private talks. The delegations will meet in a wide format and intergovernmental and inter-ministerial documents will be signed later. The Presidents of Latvia and Armenia will also hold a joint press conference.
On the same day a state dinner will be served for the Latvian President and First Lady Lilita Zatlere on behalf of the Armenian President and First Lady Rita Sargsyan. During the visit President Zatlers will also meet with Chairman of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and will be hosted by His Holiness, Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II. The Presidents of Latvia and Armenia will also participate in the opening ceremony of the Latvian-Armenian business forum.
The Latvian President will also visit the Great Genocide memorial complex and lay flowers at the memorial. He will also visit the Armenian Genocide museum-institute and plant a tree in the Memorial Square.
President Zatlers will also have a meeting with students and professors of the Yerevan State University. Zatlersl will have a meeting with Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan and a group of honorable citizens of Yerevan and will tour the Yerevan History Museum.
During his visit to Armenia, the President of Latvia will also visit the Brandy Factory of Yerevan and the Matenadaran.
On December 11 the delegation led by the Latvian President will return to Latvia.
