"Hovhannisyan is waiting like a crocodile lying in ambush"
Chairman of Armenia's Marxist Party David Hakobyan David Hakobyan finds Hmayak Hovhannisyan's support for Nikol Pashinyan running for Parliament at Constituency 10 as fulsome.
"Hovhannisyan's concern over oppositionist Nikol Pashinyan is insincere and disingenuous. As a crocodile lying in ambush he is waiting for the court decision to see whether it will uphold Pashinyan's claim and let him run in the election. Being convinced that the authorities will "remove" Pashinyan from the marathon Hmayak is looking forward to reaping the opposition's laurels," David Hakobyan told A1+.
Let's mention that the three stand for Parliament at the same constituency.
The Marxist leader considers Nikol Pashinyan his number one rival. "Everyone admires Nikol's journalistic talent. He is a decent person. But today the public seeks a person capable of introducing ideological reforms and new economic concepts. Let people make a righteous choice."
David Hakobyan feels enchained by Pashinyan's detention.
"I have been in the political domain for 15 years and I have encountered no problems during campaigns. I gained 18 000 votes during the parliamentary elections under majoritarian system but the authorities took 8 000 votes from me and gave to my rival Hakob. As a result, I wasn't elected. This time I have changed my strategy. I shall lead a limited campaign since Pashinyan is in custody."
David Hakobyan thinks that the authorities will not register Pashinyan as a candidate.
"David of Sasun will not yield his third blow to anyone else," David Hakobyan concluded adding that he intends to fight till the final victory.
