More serious response from Kocharyan
According to ARF Bureau member Vahan Hovhannisyan, Levon Ter-Petrosyan's statements were more of a "commercial character and were offering services to the authorities in exchange of payment."
According to Hovhannisyan, Armenia will pay a high price if that payment is from the budget. If not, the payment may be of a political nature, that is, to ensure a certain percentage in the 2012 parliamentary elections. Vahan Hovhannisyan doesn't consider the decision of the authorities to grant Nikol Pashinyan the necessary notice for registering as a candidate by chance. Vahan Hovhannisyan knows the authorities very well and knows that "they don't tend to make compromises for even the smallest issues."
Head of the ARF faction Vahan Hovhannisyan stated that Robert Kocharyan didn't give an adequate response to Levon Ter-Petrosyan's allegations.
"We were waiting to see a more serious, political response," Vahan Hovhannisyan said and added that Robert Kocharyan wanted to emphasize that he is far from politics.
"But if you are not involved in politics, politics involves you," head of the ARF faction reminded Kocharyan.
In his November 11 statement, Levon Ter-Petrosyan said that the wrong steps that the ARF ascribes to Serzh Sargsyan [refusal of territorial claims from Turkey, the consent to the proposal to create a historical commission for the Armenian Genocide and the pull-out of Karabakh from the Azeri-Armenian negotiations] were taken during Robert Kocharyan's term. In response to that, Robert Kocharyan recalled a European huntsman, the bear that hurt him and said that "that probably inspired Levon Ter-Petrosyan and that is why he remembers me quite often."
ARF promises to get active
Why is the ARF less active after the signing of the Turkey-Armenia Protocols? What are the political parties that joined their statement busy with? In response to the question by "A1+", Vahan Hovhannisyan said that it was nonsensical for the ARF to be active when the issue is not at the domestic level and they are going to get active now when the case has reached the Constitutional Court.
The ARF is also working with the deputies. The members of the ARF structures are working with the deputies living in their territories and those who were elected at the certain precincts.
