Today is International Students' Day and most students are remembering their problems. For instance, they would like to use their student cards for discounts on transportation.

Student at the Armenian State Pedagogical University, Larisa, told "A1+":

"My student card only helps me check out books from the library. I am from the Tavush Marz and I only go back home once a month. If only students had a discount on the transportation fee..."

The price for going from Yerevan to the Tavush Marz is 2,000 drams.

"The student card only encourages us. To be honest, I don't even know if it's with me or not. It is just a formality," one of the students of the Yerevan State University said.

"Today, that student card doesn't give us anything and only proves that we are students. We have raised this issue a couple of times at the student council. We have also addressed the Ministry of Education to get discounts at cafes and for transportation. The student cards mean nothing for students today," president of the YSU student council Tsolak Hakobyan said.

By the way, chairman of the "Prosperous Armenia" party Gagik Tsarukyan granted 500-dollar stipendium for 42 students from nearly 20 universities and it was mentioned that the stipendiums will be granted again.
