Armenian citizens were waiting in lines, pushing and shoving to get to the SAS supermarkets today to purchase eggs, vegetable oil, vodka, beer, mayonnaise and "Snickers" candy bars for half price-part of the three-day half-price sale at all SAS supermarkets.

There were not too many people at the SAS supermarket on Isahakyan 35 Street, but there was a line. People waiting in line said that they were mainly buying eggs and vegetable oil, which were already sold out at 12 p.m.

Things were even more "heated" at the SAS supermarket on Mashtots 18 Street. Since the supermarket there is small, the staff had decided to let a limited amount of people pass and there was a long line of people waiting outside. This was not the only thing that disappointed citizens. It turned out that eggs and vegetable oil had been sold out as of 11 a.m.

"I have been waiting in line for two hours. I am disabled and I just underwent an eye operation. Nobody is letting me get through," pensioner Rosa Martirosyan complained to "A1+".

"How can they announce a three-day sale, if they don't have enough eggs and vegetable oil?" one of the consumers asked.

Even people who had come to the supermarket to purchase other goods could not get inside. After a short while, the vice-president of "SAS Group" Samvel Manukyan came to the supermarket and announced that he had brought new stocks of eggs and vegetable oil. The pensioner tried to make her way through and got inside. After a short while, the doors of the store opened and the line continued to grow at the counters.

The supermarket administration tried to explain the situation: "There were huge lines only at this supermarket due to its small size. We have foreseen a large stock and the three-day sale will continue," Samvel Manukyan told "A1+".

There were also buyers who were satisfied with the sale and expressed their gratitude. There were no more eggs or vegetable oil by 1 p.m. However, more and more people were gathering near the store.
