Armenian National Congress representative David Shahnazaryan doesn't exclude that the Central Electoral Commission will not register Nikol Pashinyan as a candidate for the deputy elections at the #10 precinct. "There are no grounds for not registering Pashinyan in terms of the law, but we can't exclude anything," Mr. Shahnazaryan told "A1+" today.

Despite all circumstances, David Shahnazaryan finds that Nikol Pashinyan's nomination was a correct decision and it was Pashinyan's decision. "It is one more chance to emphasize that there are still political prisoners in Armenia. We can't stop as long as there is still one political prisoner in Armenia. The Congress supports Pashinyan's nomination and will do everything possible to reach the ultimate success."

Upon the request of "A1+", David Shahnazaryan also touched upon the statement made by Special Representative of EU in the South Caucasus Peter Semnebi according to which the NKR status is not discussed in the negotiations, while Serzh Sargsyan claims that he mainly discusses the interim and final status issues with Aliev.

"There is nothing said about the NKR status in the Madrid Principles. Both Semnebi and Serzh Sargsyan are wrong because the Madrid Principles presuppose ways for determining the status. It would be better for both to read the principles carefully again," he said.
