Heritage makes a proposal
Seven members of the Heritage Party have sent the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamian the bill on the amendments to the Law on Armenian Holidays and Memorial Days. The heritage suggests marking April 24 as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide and of Condemnation of the Great Armenian Dispossession"
The genocide resulted in the expatriation of Armenians, and the people were deprived of their historical motherland. This reality is our common tragedy, which makes the fact of genocide more integral. The tragedy should be viewed in this integrity and the remembrance day should be marked in this context," reads the Heritage statement.
