Seven candidates nominated
As of November 2, seven candidates have been nominated at Yerevan's Electoral District 10.
The candidates are Ara Asimonian (National Concord), David Hakobian (Marxist Party), Edward Madatian (former minister of Transport and Communication), Hmayak Hovhannisian (Chairman of the Union of Political Scientists), Vladimir Kostanian (actor), Nikol Pashinian (editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak daily) and Rafael Aivazian (Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutiun).
The parliamentary seat was declared vacant after opposition MP Khachatur Sukiasian laid down his mandate.
The candidates must submit all documents required for the registration by November 26.
The election is scheduled for January 10, 2010.
