Heritage faction MP Larisa Alaverdian is surprised why the latest statement made by the chairman of the "Prosperous Armenia" party Gagik Tsarukian, that the businessman must be involved in politics, has remained without any response from political circles or public.

Larisa Alaverdian says the "mysterious" silence seems strange, since the statement of Gagik Tsarukian contradicts to the RA Constitution, "where in black and white is written, that a person engaged in business, has no right to become a deputy".

Parliamentary forces were quick to respond to Ms. Alaverdian. The head of the ruling party gave an odd reply.

"I don't think the Constitution was drawn up by the Heritage. What connection could you find between Tsarukian's statement and the Constitution," said Republican faction chiarman Galust Sahakian and added: "Gagik Tsarukian is a shareholder and is not engaged in business."

Chairman of the ARD-Dashnaktsutiun Vahan Hovhannisian says Tsarukian's anti-constitutional statement didn't find deep resonance since "our public accepts the reality which doesn't always comply with the Constitution."
