Does ARF-Dashnaktsutiun suffer from masochism?
During the signing ceremony of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian didn't feel belittled or insulted.
"I do not know who is supposed to feel embarrassed. People circulating such information probably suffer from masochism," Edward Nalbandian said during a joint news conference with his Belarusian counterpart on October 30.
The Armenian FM refuted ARF-Dashnaktsutiun's allegation that the countries forcing the foreign ministers to sign the documents stood behind the FMs during the signing.
"I must say that the countries you have mentioned did their best to bring the sides closer. They didn't pressurize us. The opinion that Armenia-Turkey protocols were signed under the pressure of superpowers is erroneous. All countries of the globe mediate the process with the exception of two or three states," said Edward Nalbandian.
The Armenian FM reiterated that the Protocols carry no preconditions and the two countries must ratify the documents as soon as possible. He also underlined that Karabakh conflict has no linkage to the bilateral Protocols.
