Surenyants will announce tomorrow

Member of the "Republic" party's political council Suren Surenyants still hasn't registered to run in the elections for deputy at the #10 precinct, although there are only two days left for registration.

Suren Surenyants told "A1+" that he would make an announcement tomorrow.

Let us remind that earlier Suren Surenyants had said that he was planning to become a deputy, but the Armenian National Congress had declared that it was not going to support him.

Rumor had it that the "Republic" party was going to convene a session and discuss the issue of supporting or not supporting Surenyants.

Member of the party's political council Rafik Mkrtchyan told "A1+" that there had not been any party session. As far as Surenyants' announcement is concerned, the political council members said that there should be discussion after it is done.

Among those who registered today were actor, director of the "Zhamants" LTD, non-partisan Vladimir Kostanyan, as chairwoman of the #10 precinct electoral commission Silva Markosyan told "A1+".

Let us remind that among already registered candidates running for deputy under majority order are former Minister of Transportation and Communication, Edward Madatyan, chairman of the Marxist Party, David Hakobyan and president of the Union of Political Scientists, Hmayak Hovhannisyan.

Registration of candidates will continue until November 1 and the elections will be held on January 10, 2010.
