Did they have the opportunity to reveal?
In an exclusive interview with "A1+", RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan said that the investigative group was provided with all opportunities to reveal the organizers of "October 27", but they did not reveal them. "A1+" was not able to get clarifications from former military prosecutor Gagik Jhangiryan, who conducted the preliminary investigation of the case of October 27. We present the interview with the RA Prosecutor General in its entirety.
"A1+": Mr. Hovsepyan, do you think it is possible to revise the case of the organizers that is separate from the main case of "October 27" based on the fact that the major witness of the case Nairi Badalyan has returned to Armenia?
Aghvan Hovsepyan: The criminal case brought up with the appeals of Nairi Badalyan doesn't serve as a basis for revising the case because the appeals regard the violent acts perpetrated against Nairi Badalyan.
"A1+": It's not about Nairi Badalyan's appeals, but the return of Nairi Badalyan the witness and the petition that was made by Ashot Sargsyan and approved...
A.H.: Nairi Badalyan has said that violent acts have been perpetrated against him. Until then, Nairi Badalyan had been interrogated several times within the framework of the case.
"A1+": So, do you consider it possible to review the case of the organizers?
A.H.: It is possible, if new facts come up and if those facts are confirmed. But I must say that the so-called "separate part", as the examiners of the case had called it, was groundless because they had examined and clarified everything that was possible. The investigative group had all the opportunities to do that.
"A1+":So, can we say that the case of "27" is closed?
A.H.: That is your conclusion.
