Barack Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize 2009
U.S. President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize 2009 "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
Unlike other Nobel Prizes presented in Sweden, the Nobel Peace Prize is presented in Norway.
Note that the Norwegian Committee is chaired by Council of Europe's newly-appointed Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland.
