“Miatsum” is ringing the bell
Members of the "Miatsum" national initiative were burning the symbolic Turkish-Armenian protocols in front of the statue of Avetik Isahakyan today.
Passer-bys also took part in the act by taking fire from the cup on the small table. The fire was brought from Tsitsernakaberd. In addition, they signed their names under the following lines: "I am signing against the Turkish-Armenian protocols and the Madrid Principles."
Member of "Miatsum", film director Tigran Khzmalyan said that they had gathered to awaken the people.
"I think that we can compare this to Sardarapat. From the beginning of the battle of Sardarapat on May 22 until May 29, the bells of the churches in the Ararat valley chimed day and night. Unfortunately, we don't have the support from the church and that is why we have taken on the role."
There were no policemen near the statue today. The "Miatsum" national initiative will also burn the symbolic protocols in other districts as well.
