RA Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan received today the delegation of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation headed by Head of the General Department of International and Legal Relations of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office Sahak Karapetyan. The delegation is in Armenia on a working visit.

The seven delegates of the Russian Prosecutor's Office are in Armenia to participate in the scientific forum and seminars organized by the RA Prosecutor General's office within the framework of the 2007-2009 plan of cooperation between the Armenian and Russian Prosecutor General's Offices signed in 2007.

During the forum the Armenian and Russian delegates discussed the organizing of the activities of prosecutors in courts, the legality of judicial acts, as well as issues related to application of procedures foreseen in international treaties on handing of the accused and prisoners during the seminars.

The sides praised the impact of the plan of cooperation, attaching importance to the joint discussions on the issues of concern and the exchange of experience for solutions to those issues. It was agreed to sign a new plan of cooperation for 2010-2011. According to preliminary agreement, the plan will be signed by the end of this year in Moscow. Until then, Armenian and Russian experts will develop the topics for the joint discussions.

S. Karapetyan transmitted the invitation of Russian Prosecutor General Yu Chayka to his Armenian counterpart to pay a working visit to Moscow in order to discuss the issues related to authorizations of the prosecutor's offices out of court.

The delegation will leave for Armenia on October 2.
