The Heritage Party today sent a letter to Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan with a demand to conduct a referendum on the pre-signed Protocols on Armenian-Turkish relations.

"The Heritage finds that a referendum must be held to hear the full spectrum of opinions of Armenian society on the documents. This referendum must also be linked to a "vote of confidence" referendum regarding the Armenian president.

In the name of the Heritage Party and Heritage parliamentary faction we urge you to exercise your right prescribed by the RA Constitution and Law on Referendum and to initiate and organize within the following month a referendum with the purpose of revealing the public opinion on the agreed-upon and presigned documents and to include a question relating to confidence in the Republic of Armenia president, who is responsible for the country's foreign policy," runs the letter.

The Party expects a written answer to the letter within ten days.
