For the Tax package and against "A1+"
Today the Parliament adopted the debatable tax package the voting of which was postponed for 15 days for it to be amended. 73 deputies voted for the package, 23 were against and one abstained from voting.
Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan represented the amended version of the tax package which has been approved in the chief committee. It had been distributed to the deputies, and the majority voted without reading, trusting the Deputy Minister.
Suren Karayan informed that the Government has accepted all the suggestions of the committee. He also said that the tax officers will inspect not the warehouses but the inventorization of goods from outside. There weren't any more questions about the draft which was adopted after the first hearing.
Today the Parliament also turned down the offer of Stepan Safaryan to create an ad-hoc committee with the aim of organizing open, fair and transparent competitions for broadcasting licenses, as well as with the aim of meeting the commitments of Armenia taken up in accordance with PACE resolutions for implementing the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in connection with the A1+ case. 53 deputies voted against including the draft into the agenda of the 6th session, 18 abstained from voting and only 17 voted for it.
Stepan Safaryan thanked those 17 deputies who had voted for his initiative.
