"Nobody cares for us"

One has to light a flashlight in the daytime to ascend the students' hostel of Yerevan's Nor Nork District. The corridors are so dark that one doesn't know where he steps.

Karabakh war veteran, father of a perished son, Edward Movsesyan, 62, lives in Room 325 given to him by the Defence Ministry three months ago.

The few things in the room- a Soviet TV-set, a table, a bed and a sofa - were given by Edward's neighbours.

"Even a pig wouldn't live in these conditions. Whenever I ask the Defence Ministry for some money to renovate the room, they say: "You must be grateful for what you have," Mr. Movsesyan said to A1+.

Even the sewerage system is privatized.

People having no notion about Karabakh receive apartments, medals and pensions and are honoured every day. But nobody cares for us," concluded Mr. Movsesyan.
