Head of the Republican Party faction Galust Sahakyan doesn't believe that there will be a rapid solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but says that it is good to see open negotiations.

According to him, it is very important for Karabakh to be recognized as an offical party in the negotiations.

"If Karabakh is recognized as an official party in the negotiations, it will receive the status of a subject of international law, which is very important in terms of self-determination of nations. Our diplomatic corpus must work on that."

As for the rumors about returning the seven territories, the Republican MP said that nobody is preparing to concede lands.

Don't the shots heard recently and the case connected to the son of mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan trouble you? In response, the MP said:

"This is an issue that concerns everybody, but it is senseless to tie that to the party. Everyone joins the strong-the shooters and those who don't."
