To make concessions in the foreign front
"The Armenian National Congress is not focusing on the authorities' statements on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, but the process itself," said to "A1+" Levon Ter-Petrosyan's press speaker, Aram Musinyan.
Let us remind that in his press conference yesterday, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan announced that the Armenian side has never agreed with the Madrid Principles, but the principles are on the table.
"When the presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries released their statement on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during the G8 Summit, the RA Foreign Minister welcomed that and the Deputy Foreign Minister evaluated it as the result of the Azerbaijani propaganda. I am not planning to comment on their statements when they are not serious toward the issue."
Musinyan also believes that Edward Nalbandyan's statement on Turkish-Armenian relations is not serious. According to him, the Armenian authorities have come to terms with Turkey in regard to Turkish-Armenian relations.
"Evidence of that is the announcement by the Armenian, Turkish and Swedish Foreign Ministers. Armenia and Turkey have come to terms and based on that agreement, Armenian diplomats sacrificed the issue of Armenian Genocide for normalization of Turkish-Armenian ties. The policies led by these authorities is betrayal because the regime is making concessions in the foreign front just to keep power in the country"
According to Musinyan, the first concession in the front was agreeing to create a commission of Turkish and Armenian historians and the second was the readiness to make concessions for resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Before leaving for Moscow, Serzh Sargsyan assured that no document would be signed and he didn't sign anything. But does that mean that there is a dangerous document? In response to that, Musinyan said:
"The Armenian Foreign Minister and the Republicans have announced several times that the document presented to the parties is in the interests of the Armenian side. Why aren't they signing the document? They should have signed it immediately. This goes to show that the authorities are once again trying to confuse the people with their announcements and actions that contradict one another."
