On the traces of "Cheryomukha 7"
Instructions were given to initiate criminal cases on the violation of special means usage and abuse of official competence, reports the Prosecutor-General's Office of the Republic of Armenia.
Prosecutor K. Piloyan, supervising the preliminary investigation legality of the criminal case on the mass disorders on 1-2 March, 2008 in Yerevan being investigated by the RA Special Investigation Service, tasked the preliminary body to initiate criminal cases on the policemen's violation of special means usage and abuse of official competence.
Particularly K. Piloyan gave instructions according to the RA Criminal Code Article 373 parts (violation of arms, ammunition, objects, substances perilous for environment usage) to initiate criminal cases on the 4 policemen having used the special means "Cheryomukha 7".
Besides, video-recordings on the events of 1-2 March, 2008 mass disorders were received from ad hoc parliamentary commission. The video-recordings showed the armed policemen to run after the citizens dressed in civilian clothes and strike them with their batons and shields, which are considered to be special means. K. Piloyan, taking into consideration the existence of official duties abuse in the presented video-recordings, tasked to initiate a criminal case according to the RA Criminal Code Article 309 and undertake the necessary measures to provide the preliminary investigation impartiality and comprehensiveness to find out all the circumstances and bring the guiltiest to responsibility.
