Extraordinary consultation
President Serzh Sargsyan convened an extraordinary consultation today connected with the crash of the Iranian Tu-154 plane en route to Armenia.
Heads of the General Directorate of the Civil Aviation and the National Security Council presented the details of the crash.
As a result of the consultations it was decided to establish a government commission headed by Deputy-Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan.
President Serzh Sargsyan has issued a statement expressing condolences for the crash of the Tehran-Yerevan plane.
"Dear compatriots,
I'm applying to you on this sad occasion: hours ago the Tehran-Yerevan plane crashed, killing all passengers and crewmembers on board. There are Armenian citizens among the victims.
We extend condolences to the relatives and friends of the victims. The Armenian authorities are doing their best to help them at this hard moment.
It's hard to find words of condolence for people, who have lost their relatives. I wish you strength of spirit and courage to overcome this great tragedy."
