Serzh Sargsyan received Alen Terzyan
Serzh Sargsyan received Head of the Union of French Film Producers, Chairman of the French Academy of Cinema Art and Cesar award ceremony and Director of the Canne Film Festival Alen Terzyan and his wife.
According to a July 13 presidential decree, Alen Terzyan was awarded a Medal of Honor for his considerable contribution to the development of cinematography, as well as his cooperation with the Homeland and his work aimed at deepening relations between Armenia and France.
Handing the high state award, Sargsyan welcomed Terzyan's first visit to Armenia and noted that Armenians are proud to have a compatriot like Alen Terzyan.
"It is our goal to have our fellow Armenians living abroad to consider Armenia as their historic Homeland," said Sargsyan.
Sargsyan welcomed the world-famous film director's participation in the "Golden Apricot" Film Festival.
"I am glad, proud and excited to be in Armenia, my historic Homeland. I had a strange feeling when I set foot on Armenian land and it is the feeling that only Armenians with the desire to be in Armenia feel and my dream came true," said Alen Terzyan.
The French Armenian artist said that he was impressed by the "Golden Apricot" Film Festival, which is getting more and more popular year by year.
