On Monday, July 13 the RA Police charged Herbert Gevorgyan, 14 (son of "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper correspondent Hayk Gevorgyan) with point 1 and 2, Part 3, Article 258 of the RA Criminal Code for "hooliganism commited by a group of individuals or organized group and accompanied by resistance against a state representative or a person fulfilling the duty of keeping social order or preventing disturbance of social order."
Let us recall that Herbert and two other young men by the names of Tigran Arakelyan and Sahak Muradyan were arrested on July 1 on Abovyan Street when a conflict took place between them and police officers while they were passing out flyers for the ANC's rally.
As Hayk Gevorgyan told "A1+", his son was a suspect to this day and now he is charged. He was handed over to his parents because he was a minor and that is why the court will not discuss a precautionary measure. Preliminary investigation is underway.
