Visited the Nubarashen penitentiary
Today President of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) Belhassen and her partners visited advocate Arshaluys Hakobyan at the "Nubarashen" penitentiary.
Let us remind that the FIDH, the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT) and a number of Armenian legal defense organizations made a joint statement in which they express their deep concerns about the violence during the illegal arrests of the advocate.
Yesterday the delegation held a number of meetings with representatives of the Armenian authorities and raised the issue of the advocate's imprisonment.
Observer of the Helsinki Association's May 31 observatory mission Arshaluys Hakobyan was arrested on June 5 and was charged with Part 1, Article 316 of the Criminal code for Use of violence against a representative of authorities.
On the day of elections, Arshaluys Hakobyan mainly followed the elections in the Malatia-Sebastia district and provided information about falsifications in that district.
