MP Victor Dallakyan considers the assaults against journalists as the most negative phenomenon during the May 31 elections for the Council of Elders.
"Law-enforcement bodies must take concrete steps because intolerance leads to new crimes," Mr. Dallakyan told "A1+" today.

Dallalkyan has personally undertaken the initiative to prepare a penalty for impeding the journalist's job that foresees a sentencing of up to 5 years.
"Those who assault journalists are fined 5 times the amount of their salaries and that is ridiculous."

Dallakyan considers the inter-party conflicts as one of the most important flaws of the May 31 vote.

"The clashes between the Republican and Prosperous Armenia parties had a negative impact on the entire electoral process. Those who were ready to go to the polls were threatened and did not take part in the elections."

Dallakyan doesn't believe in the official statistics released by the Central Electoral Commission according to which there was 52% voter turnout on May 31.
You talk about threats during the elections, but some of the people who threatened were MPs who toured the polling stations that day and helped the ballot-box stuffing, assaults on journalists and electoral violations. What do you have to say about that? To this Dallakyan said: "Unfortunately, our legislative body faces a serious issue of formation and even the constitutional norm establishing that the MP has the right to do business is violated. The parliament formation system is flawed and we already face an issue when the representatives of that flawed system participate in the elections," said Dallakyan.
