"Vardaton": Celebration of Roses
The monument of Sayat Nova by a Georgian sculptor will be opened on June 7 at the former "Turkish Public Square" in Tbilisi.
This is the reason why the "Sayat-Nova" folk song group will celebrate "Vardaton" (Celebration of Roses) a month later. "Vardaton" (Celebration of Roses) is traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of May in the yard of Armenian See of St. Gevorg Church near Sayat-Nova's tombstone in Tbilisi.
The celebration will be launched by the "Sayat-Nova" group and the RA Ministry of Culture. Young folk singers and intellectuals will also leave for the opening of the monument with the "Sayat-Nova" group of the school of folk song named after Jivani.
