Will they consider them invalid?
President of "It's Your Choice" NGO Harutyun Hambartsuyan believes that their registered violations aren't enough to consider the elections for Council of Elders invalid.
"The cases of ballot-box stuffing that we registered in Malatia-Sebastia can have more impact. They were the factor that had an impact and the elections can be considered invalid in that polling station," said Harutyun Hambartsumyan.
The organization conducted observations in all 439 polling stations in Yerevan and the observers registered cases of illegal voting. According to them, the ballot-box stuffing occurred when a large number of voters were at the polling stations and this caused large pile-ups and a situation that got out of control.
Observers say that they found unknown signatures in front of 5 names of one family in Arabkir and some polling stations held open votes. The voting booths were installed in a way for the voter to face the commission from the behind.
According to the "It's Your Choice" organization, the rumors flying around about voting bribes during the pre-election campaign and on the day of the elections, the use of administrative resources, the conflicts between some political parties, as well as the assaults against some journalists, proxies and observers cast a shadow on the Yerevan elections for Council of Elders.
At this moment, the votes of 10 polling stations are being recounted and those polling stations are 3/12, 8/29, 8/31, 8/32, 8/33, 8/18, 8/19, 8/22 and 9/28. The "Country of Law" party has filed six appeals, the Prosecutor General's office has filed three and "Heritage" has filed one.
