“Heritage” member a sell-out?
The "Heritage" party is concerned over the latest developments in Armenia's foreign policy and the "press" statements of the OSCE Co-Chairs.
According to "Heritage" Deputy Stepan Safaryan, Armenia has initiated a process with no turning back and any advancements may cause a blow to the interests of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
During today's press conference, Deputies of the "Heritage" party called on the authorities to get a grip.
"I met the president in Prague and we asked him about the talks. He told us that no matter how much we criticize him for his actions, Europe is praising him. So, is the purpose to have Europe praise the authorities? Where is the national interest? Isn't that important? Who are the RA President and the government working for?" said chief of the "Heritage" administration Anahit Bakhchyan.
The aim of the press conference was to inform that there would not be any members in the electoral commissions at the 8th precinct during the local self-government elections.
Anahit Bakhchyan informed that the "Heritage" representative from the mentioned precinct was a "sell out" and had pretended to be sick, allowing members of the Central Electoral Commission to appoint new members. The latter were all from the ruling parties.
"This means that the authorities don't trust their candidate and are taking different paths. Nevertheless, we believe that it is possible to control the electoral process through proxies and observers if, of course, the situation gets out of hand and it gets to the point where we will have physical pressure, which usually happens," said "Heritage" representative Zoya Tadevosyan at the CEC.
Tadevosyan also informed that the "Heritage" party doesn't have the posts of president, vice-president or secretary in none of the 439 electoral commissions, but the Republican, "Prosperous Armenia", "Country of Law" and "Dashnaktsutyun" parties do.
