ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan began his speech by congratulating rally participants on May Day and went on to present the upcoming plans

Zurabyan said that Armenians are facing hard times and referred to developments in the region which have set Armenia in a difficult situation. According to Zurabyan, Armenia needs wise and skillful authorities to get out of this situation, but today's government is a dictatorship. Levon Zurabyan claims that the only way to fight against these authorities is through a strong pan-national movement.

"Our plan for radical changes is clear and it is not a campaign. This is simply our political platform," said Levon Zurabyan adding that the platform includes restoring freedom to hold rallies, lifting the information blockade, creating a cable television network in Yerevan, which will provide all television networks that have been shut down to go on air and more.

Zurabyan's speech was followed by the speech made by leader of the "Hanrapetutyun" party Aram Sargsyan. Sargsyan touched upon the psychological impact of the developments in the region on people. He said that each Armenian feels the danger and the authorities are not doing anything to find a way out of this situation. They are not gathering the people and are trying to reach their goals through assaults and faulty trials.

Aram Sargsyan underscored that people are joining the ANC day by day and the ANC will do everything it can consolidate the potential of the nation, as in the late 80's and early 90's.

Leader of the People's Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchyan took note of the fact that the release of political prisoners would create preconditions for the dialogue between the authorities and the opposition, but that is not taking place.

Demirchyan also promised that by winning in the mayor elections, the opposition will undertake initiatives to solve issues facing the city and restore constitutional right in the country.
