Tens of thousands of proponents of the Armenian opposition today marched from Northern Avenue to the Genocide Memorial Monument in Tsitsernakaberd.

Today the police didn't intervene with the opposition's march; rather, they ensured the participants' security and accompanied them to Tsitsernakaberd.

The march was headed by the leader of the Hanrapetutyun Party Aram Sargsyan, senior representatives of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Levon Zurabyan and David Shahnazaryan, leader of the Pan-Armenian National Movement (HHSh) Ararat Zurabyan and many others.

The participants marched through Yerevan's central streets which were made impassable for vehicles.  The crowd enlarged on the way as more and more people joined the crowd.

The marchers sang folk songs and chanted, "Levon! Struggle to the end!"

The leader of the People's Party of Armenia (HZhK), Stepan Demirtchyan and Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan joined the marchers near Baghramyan Avenue.

Minutes later the crowd started a mourning march to the memorial complex

The marchers laid flowers and wreaths at the Eternal Flame.
