Armenian PM receives EBRD representatives

Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received Michael Davey, the Regional Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Valery Razlog, the newly appointed Director of the EBRD Armenia Office, and Michel Veinst, former head of the EBRD Armenia Office. The parties discussed issues related to the further development of Armenia's cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Emphasising the high level and effectiveness of cooperation, the parties attached importance to the continuation and development of collaboration especially under the conditions of the current global financial and economic crisis. Among the priorities of cooperation, PM Tigran Sargsyan pointed to the expansion of assistance to small and medium-sized businesses, the private sector and infrastructures, which is important for overcoming the consequences and impacts of the global crisis on Armenia.

The Armenian Premier congratulated Valery Razlog on the new appointment and voiced hope that Armenia's collaboration with the European Bank will further deepen during his tenure.

Minister Sargsyan also thanked the former head of the EBRD Armenia Office, Mr. Michel Veinst, for fruitful cooperation and wished him success in future initiatives.
