Case of seven: Trial continues today
The Court of First Instance of Yerevan's Shengavit district today continues the case hearing of the seven opposition figures standing trial on charges of boisterously provoking deadly post-election violence in Armenia in 2008.
Today's hearing on the case will likely last but a few minutes. Only defendant Grigor Voskerchyan will be present at today's hearing as the other six defendants were expulsed from the courtroom last week protesting against a statement made by one of the trial prosecutors.
Voskerchyan's lawyer, Stepan Voskanyan, will not attend today's trial s he is in Georgia.
Note that yesterday Voskerchyan asked the judge in the case Mnatsakan Martirosyan to take into consideration the lawyer's absence who is taking part in another trial in Georgia. Judge Martirosyan ignored Voskerchyan's words and scheduled the next trial for March 11. Remind that the court had suspended the judicial proceedings against defendant Shant Harutyunyan. The other five oppositionists will not be allowed to attend their trial for the next ten days.
