Gagik Jhangiryan celebrates his anniversary today
Armenia's ex deputy Prosecutor General Gagik Jhangiryan celebrates his 54th birthday in the Vardashen Penitentiary Institution.
Gagik Jhangiryan was taken under arrest last February after voicing support for Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan at Liberty Square. The ex deputy prosecutor general has been in prison for a year. The trial on the case is already drawing to an end. The court is expected to bring in a verdict on March 13.
To remind, the Prosecutor in the case, Koryun Piloyan, demands to find Gagik Jhangiryan guilty under Article 316 of Armenia's Criminal Code and to sentence him to four years' imprisonment. Gagik Jhangiryan considers the indictment against him as a political vengeance
