"Gagik Beglaryan betrayed the people. After he was first elected district head, he promised to support the residents of the alienation zone. Beglaryan was part of the commission, but he hurt us more," told "A1+" president of the "Defense of Property Rights" NGO Vachagan Hakobyan during the subsequent protest of the residents held in Republic Square. Hakobyan also said that they are going to combine forces to support the opposition candidate in the upcoming Yerevan mayor elections.
"The last time that we visited city council Zakharyan didn't tell us whether the issue was being solved or not. Then we found out that he had left leaving the subject closed. Zakharyan and Kocharyan robbed the people. How can we defend Beglaryan who is simply continuing their "task"? We will fight until the end and will reach our goal by strengthening the struggle," added Hakobyan.
This time police officers didn't let the protesters approach the government building and this surprised journalists of the Russian "REN TV" network.
The nearly 100 protesters were standing near the fountains of the square. The protesters were also disappointed in the sharp decline of the dram exchange rate.
"We are living like homeless people and now we see inflation. We will end up starving if things continue this way," said one of the protesters.
