The Italian cities of Friul, Venice and Julia of the Udine state of Italy and the Dilijan city of Tavush Marz of Armenia are now sister cities, according to a treaty signed in Italy.

Tavush Marz head Armen Ghularyan and head of the state council of Friul-Venice-Julia Edward Balaman signed a treaty in Triest to start cooperation between the cities, after which they participated in the opening ceremony of the park named after Armenia in Udine where there is a statue symbolizing the friendly ties between Armenia and Italy sculpted by Hamlet Matinyan.
