Support A1+!There are intellectuals in the RA but there is no need for intellectuals. These are the opinions of the RA actor Azat Gasparyan and reciter Silva Yuzbashyan.
Azat Gasparyan commented on that point this way: “There is no necessity of an intellectual in Armenia, since the intellectuals are poor, while today everyone yearns for money and does not pay attention to a scientist, an actor or a teacher”.
He believes there are no readers today, not because bad works are written, but because of the vast generation gap.
According to him, music and dance mingle with poetry. There is no way of presenting poetry today. Silva Yuzbashyan agreed and added that poetry should not be played. She also mentioned that our new poets were deprived of their classical roots and were going to the West.
She recalled her visit to Persia, where businessmen know poetry, while our businessmen do not know any of Hovhannes Tumanyan’s works.
