KARABAKH MONUMENTS TO BE SPOKEN ABOUT IN ARABIC

In 2005 in Nagorno Karabakh 320 historical monuments were examined and registered. Similar researches are carried out in Karabakh yearly. In 2006 the Department on monuments defense of NKR Ministry of Science and Education plans to examine 480 monuments. A map of Karabakh monuments has already been published in Armenian and Russian.

7 thousand maps were published 1000 of which have been financed by sponsors and that edition was sent to USA.

At present over 10 thousand monuments are registered in Nagorno Karabakh, main part of which are presented in the published maps. Similar editions has come up also in USA and Australia. “Starting from demand we plan to publish maps in English, as well as Arabic.

Publishing maps in Arabic is conditioned also with the fact that Azerbaijan raises Nagorno Karabakh question in international authoritative Islamic organizations, spreads false information saying that Armenians are visitants in the territory. The maps will correct erroneous perception of the history”, the head of the department told the reporter of “karabakh-online”.
