The UNESCO has declared 2006 the year of Mozart. The Austrian commission appointed well known composer and conductor Loris Chgnavoryan the art director of the festival.

January 26 a festival dedicated to Mozart’s 250th birthday will take place in Armenia. Last week the Mozart Festival was held in Tehran opera hall of Vahdat. Representatives of Austria, UK, Armenia, Germany and Iran took part in it. To note, all the tickets were sold a week before the festival. One more concert was performed by numerous requests.

December 22 Chgnavoryan Academy will open at the Tehran opera. It should be also noted that the Iranian parliament declared Loris Chgnavoryan the Person of the Year for considerable contribution to the Iranian culture. He was awarded with honorary certificate and a gold order.
