CB CAN’T RUN COUNTER TO THE RULES OF WORLD ECONOMY
Support A1+!Today Central Bank Chair has conveyed journalists interesting and contradictory information about the abrupt rise of a dram. While comparing them, it turns that in fact rate increase of Armenian dram is conditioned by foreign interference and not by natural market factors.
”Will our society agree to have a fixed rate and high prices?”, Tigran Sargssyan said. CB Chairman wanted to say that the monetary floating policy of Armenia is wiser and promising.
”Everyone realizes if dram kept devaluating towards dollar during 2004, the prices would be higher. We must submit the thought that rate increase of dram had a restricting influence on imported goods”.
CB Chairman didn’t speak about the sudden decrease of export. But he agreed that people are discontented with high prices in case of rise of dram rate.
Tigran Sargssyan conditioned the recent devaluation of a dollar by seasonal factors - many people spend their savings for New Year’s purchase.
