ITERA DOESN’T FULFILL COMMITMENTS TOWARD CUSTOMERS
Support A1+!“ITERA” Russian company has failed to fulfill its contractual obligations to tree South Caucasus republics since January 1, 2004.
The thing is that the company has no right to convey Turkmen gas through Uzbekistan’s territory. The right to use this country’s gas pipelines belongs to “GasProm”.
Negotiations over the problem are under way now. It is hard to predict the results, but one thing is clear – “ITERA” is ought to give 3 to 3,5 billion cubic meters of gas to three South Caucasus republics.
The situation created is believed to have no adverse impact on Armenia, as “ITERA” is not the only company exporting gas in the country.
Neighboring countries will find themselves in more complicated situation: “ITERA” has sole right to export gas in Georgia and is obliged to provide Azerbaijan with 50% of gas imported from the outside.
