SANCTIONS AGAINST LIZIN COMPANY DON'T MEAN SANCTIONS AGAINST REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA
Support A1+!Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan says Lisin Company imbroglio won’t affect US-Armenian relations. The only negative effect the incident may have is an adverse world-wide public opinion about Armenia, as Lizin Company is operates in our country.
As it is known, the U.S. says Lizin sold to Iran banned technologies and equipment, which could be used in researches, targeted on nuclear weapon production. Tough Lizin administration denied the information provided by US State Department. However, Oskanyan gave new details today. According to him, Lizin sold a metal of double using, in which, for example, coal percentage can be used for nuclear researches.
Oskanyan is sure the company had no intention to promote Iran’s nuclear researches. At the same time, Armenian minister notices, that Lizin Company was warned by the U.S. about consequences of this transaction. The company ignored warning and the U.S. applied sanctions against it, he says.
The sanctions stipulate following: all US and European companies and banks will be told about Lizin’s wrongdoing and urged not to cooperate with it.
On Oscanyan’s opinion Armenia-Iran relationship is also won’t be hurt by the incident.
