TASKS TO OVERCOME ECONOMIC CRISIS
Support A1+!Plans to overcome the global financial crisis were the main issues discussed during today’s government session. Before moving to the agenda, Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan touched upon a couple of the most important issues one of which concerned the tasks of ministries, inspectorates and Marz councils to present proposals for business development, reveal the existing economic potential and the plans that can be implemented by the government to foster economic growth in Armenia.
“A corresponding commission has been created by the order of the Prime Minister to coordinate the tasks and the commission will work under an operative regime. The proposals will have two aims. First, companies have a a literate and well-prepared management that presents a precise plan describing the difficulties that exist and the proposals for the state to help the given companies overcome those difficulties. Secondly, if companies don’t have a corresponding level of management, the state must help them develop business plans and implement them. In that case, government intervention is not excluded and will help us acquire certain levers in the management system for productive implementation of the programs. In other words, the tools we propose are very flexible and multifaceted,” said Tigran Sargsyan and added that it is required that all ministries fully understand the situation of the companies and the risks that they may face in 2009.
In the beginning of the session, Mayor of Yerevan Yervand Zakharyan made a statement on issues concerning urbanization in Yerevan. During discussion on issues on the agenda, the executive branch gave their consent to the bill for the RA government protocol resolution on “Confirmation of a list of events based on the speech made by the RA Premier Minister in the National Assembly”. By another resolution, changes were made in the financial assistance foreseen for Great Patriotic War veterans and the families of handicapped or deceased soldiers.
