On August 29 Serzh Sarkissian signed a decree on appointing Vasili Ghazarian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Kazakhstan (seat in Astana).

According to another presidential decree Vladimir Badalian was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Turkmenistan (seat in Ashkhabad).

On the same day Serzh Sarkissian signed a decree on designating Vakhtang Abrahamian member of the Board of Directors of the RoA Central Bank for the term of five years.

The decree comes into force from September 1, 2008.
